Banksyjev rad “Show me the Monet” na aukciji | Banksy’s “Show me the Monet” at Sotheby’s

21. listopada aukcijska kuća Sotheby’s održat će putem livestreama aukciju “Modernités / Contemporary”. Bit će to treće izdanje aukcije putem livestreama gdje će spojiti modernizam i suvremenu umjetnost i to iz cijelog svijeta.

Zanimljivost aukcije jest u tome da je jedan od ponuđenih radova Banksyjev rad “Show me the Monet”.

This October, Sotheby’s is set to develop the livestream auction model pioneered by the company in this summer’s marquee sales in New York and London, by introducing the state-of-the-art format to Paris. “Modernités / Contemporary”, Sotheby’s third livestream auction event, will bring together two sales of Modern and Contemporary art from the global calendar – one in London and one in Paris. The auctions present defining moments of the 20th and 21st centuries through artworks by the greatest artists working in Europe and beyond.

Highlights include Bridget Riley’s Untitled (Diagonal Curve) – a seminal painting from the artist’s acclaimed 1960s series of black and white compositions, and Banksy’s Show me the Monet, a dissident version of Claude Monet’s Impressionist masterpiece. The Paris auction spans the 20th century, from 1900 and the birth of the avant-garde, modernist movement to the post-war period. The artists represented all forged a distinct path over the century, among them Francis Picabia , Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Pierre Soulages. Taking centre stage is a private collection of twenty-five fresh-to-the-market works, comprising intimate gems from the Blaue Reiter in Germany to Surrealism in Paris and major works from Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro.
