BADco.: Rad panike / Lokacija: Sveučilišna bolnica, Blato | BADco.: The Labour of Panic / Location: University Hospital, Blato

On je inverzija prostorâ ljudskih razmjera u kojima svakodnevno obitavamo. Vremenu iznenadnog kraja i neizvjesnog ponovnog početka.

Rad panike posljednji je dio trilogije započete predstavom Iskop izvedenom 2018. g. u kući arhitekta Vjenceslava Richtera, a nastavljene predstavom rePublika u orkestru kojje premijerno održana u HNK Ivan pl. Zajc u listopadu 2019. u Rijeci. Trilogija tematizira veze rada, utopije i konfrontacije s nemogućnostima u vrijeme prijetnje klimatske katastrofe.~

The Labour of Panic is an event set against the green rolling hillocks of Blato that were created through the sedimentation of construction waste. A space situated between a motorway, a powerline, an unfinished hospital, the embankment of river Sava and sandpit lakes with the adjacent ailing golf real estate development project.

An infrastructural space that remains opaque to us despite the picturesque ambience of a technological landscape reclaimed by nature. It is an inversion of human-scale spaces we inhabit in our everyday. Its identity is the not-here of those everyday spaces. Just as the identity of everyday spaces is this space of displacement of people, power, water and material.

The Labour of Panic is an event that was created in the suspended time of the pandemic. The time of a sudden stoppage and an uncertain new beginning. However, for something to stop and something new to begin, for our everyday to change, a change must be first possible in the infrastructural space. This is the terrain where the contours are drawn and the vestiges are unearthed of that which cannot and that which might become.

The Labour of Panic is the final part of the trilogy that began with the performance titled Iskop (The Foundation Pit), staged in 2018 at the house of the architect Vjenceslav Richter and continued with rePublika u orkestru (rePublic in the Orchestra Pit), premièred in October 2019 at Ivan pl. Zajc Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka. The trilogy thematises the relations between work, utopia, and confrontation with impossibilities amid the threat of climate catastrophe.
